Community Health Worker Specialized Training Certificate

This entry-level training program is for anyone interested in beginning a career in the public health field, focusing on community and clinical services, community programs and social services. The program includes two courses: Role of Community Health Worker and Community Health Worker Skills & Competencies. 

This comprehensive training equips participants with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to serve as effective community health workers. They will engage in a combination of theoretical learning, practical exercises, and real-world applications to prepare them for the diverse responsibilities of the community health worker role.

This comprehensive training equips participants with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to serve as effective community health workers. They will engage in a combination of theoretical learning, practical exercises, and real-world applications to prepare them for the diverse responsibilities of the community health worker role.

PH 823.1 Role of Community Health Worker

The course will teach the skills necessary for trainees to receive the UC Merced Extension and California state-issued CHWP/R Certificates. This course includes 10 hours of fieldwork (paid or volunteer).
