Associate Project Management Specialized Certificate (CAPM)

The UC Merced PACE Associate Project Management Specialized Certificate prepares business and project management professionals to sit for the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM®) industry exam. The certificate teaches proven strategies and practical, hands-on tools that will help you effectively manage your projects. Participants will learn how to scope projects effectively, set key milestones, improve scheduling, budgeting and resource allocation, and get the project done on time, within budget and scope.

Admissions requirements

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent 
  • Work experience managing projects is recommended 
Required Courses: 

MGMT X405.1 Introduction to Project Management (2.0 Semester Units) 

This course will explore introductory topics in project management including the work of a project manager, five phases of project management, and the predictive project management approach. 

MGMT X405.6 Associate Project Management Exam Preparation Bootcamp (2.0 Semester Units) 

This bootcamp course will prepare participants to apply for and take the CAPM® industry exam. Passage of the industry exam demonstrates knowledge of basic principles and terminologies in project management. Participants will study and practice the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide).
