MGMT X405.1 Introduction to Project Management (2.0 Semester Units)
This course will explore introductory topics in project management, including the work of a project manager, five phases of project management, and the predictive project management approach.
MGMT X405.2 Project Planning (2.0 Semester Units)
Participants in this course will develop knowledge and skill in project management planning through communication, emotional intelligence, scope management, stakeholder engagement, and vision setting. The result will be a practical approach to project management.
MGMT X405.3 Project Execution and Risk Management (2.0 Semester Units)
This comprehensive course is designed for participants who aim to master the intricacies of executing projects efficiently while effectively managing risks. This course analyzes the critical phase of project execution, where planning meets action, emphasizing the practical application of project management methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to the specified quality standards. Participants will learn advanced management techniques for coordinating project resources, communication, and stakeholders, ensuring smooth project progress.
MGMT X405.4 Project Management Methods (2.0 Semester Units)
Core concepts of project management, based on processes of initiating, planning, executing, controlling and closing projects. Topics include project proposals, project selection, scope definition, CPM and PERT scheduling, budgeting, control techniques, and project manager skills.
MGMT X405.5 Project Management Capstone (1.0 Semester Unit)
Intended for a project manager with experience, this course builds upon the fundamentals explored in the Essentials of Project Management Course. It focuses on strengthening skills previously developed and expanding skills to explore more advanced topics like leadership, project performance management and the core competencies of project management. Advanced study includes plan development and performance management to aid project planning, scheduling, and measuring results. Interpersonal or soft skills are emphasized throughout to ensure project-management success through people-management success.
Note: The following education, training, and on-the-job experience are required to qualify for the PMP exam:
Bachelor’s degree holders: 36 months of experience leading projects within the past 8 years AND 35 hours of project management education/training or CAPM® Certification

High school diploma holders: 60 months of experience leading projects within the past eight years AND 35 hours of project management education/training or CAPM® Certification
