The Child Development and Care Pre-College course series is a college/career readiness initiative. High schools and adult schools can lease curriculum for child development and education courses which are approved for 12 semester units of UC Merced undergraduate credit. Courses may be transferable for academic credit at California community colleges, California State Universities and University of California (check with the receiving institution for their specific transfer policies).
Child Development Pre-College courses meet the academic requirement for an early childhood associate teacher permit from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
