What You Will Learn: 
  • Define and apply the key principles of culturally responsive teaching (CRT) and social emotional learning (SEL)
  • Reflect on personal biases and cultural lenses, and understand their impact on student engagement and classroom interactions
  • Integrate SEL competencies into classroom routines and instruction
  • Design classroom norms, routines, and rituals that promote student voice, agency, and belonging
  • Apply strategies for relationship-building, community-building, and conflict resolution
  • Create an action plan for sustaining a positive, inclusive classroom culture

This is an online, self-paced 2-semester course.
